Petrodependency and its Control

The petroleum producers industry has control of the worldwide economy, and countries everywhere depend upon the petroleum producing countries for both their economy and their wealth. The theory that dependency is the opposite of power applies to this situation, meaning the entire world is dependent upon the oil producing states for wealth in an economy that ranges from manufacturing and production, to the supply chain and transportation, to the energy supply and so on. The issue is so great that many coined words and phrases have emerged that describe the power of the oil producing countries and the controversies existing among them. Some of these words are: geopolitics and petropolitics in addition to other words that can be derived from issues that are going on, such as petrowars, petropower and petrodependence.
